eduroam is a secure and encrypted wireless connection that allows all Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø students and employees to connect their laptops, smartphones and tablets for fast and reliable WiFi while on campus and when visiting participating eduroam universities, national labs, museums, and other institutions in the and .
Setup Once & Connect. So, whether you're here or there, setup once and your device will automatically connect to eduroam anywhere it is available and in range!


 Start your Wireless Setup.

>>If you have internet access, whether on or off campus:

  • Go to  in your web-browser.

>>If you are on campus and do not have internet access:

  • Connect to the "AccessÏã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøWireless" network
  • Open a web-browser and go to , if you are not automatically redirected.

>>Once there: Click the "Eduroam" button and proceed through the prompted steps. Read detailed instuctions below for your particular device.

 

 

Note, only Safari, Firefox, and Chrome are supported. Other browsers may be incompatible with the JoinNow process.

  1. Click the JoinNow button.

  2. The WiFi_Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø_Eduroam_JoinNow. Dmg file will begin to download. When complete, open the downloaded disk image.

  3. MacOS will ask for permission to run the JoinNow application. Click the Open button.

  4. Click Next and log in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø account and complete the Microsoft Authentication. 

  5. JoinNow will ask you to enter the username and password that you use to login to your Mac.

  6. After the JoinNow profille is installed, click Next.

  7. A notification will pop up on your screen and the System Preferences app will open to the Profiles page.

  8. You must double-click the downloaded "Valdosta State eduroam" profile. Click the Install button.

  9. The Profiles/MDM installer will ask for your permission to install the profile. Use Touch ID or enter your MacOS password.

  10. The "Valdosta State eduroam" profile will now appear as a User profile.

  11. JoinNow will show "Joined..." as the process is complete. Click the Done button.

  12. You may now close the System Preferences / Profiles window. You may now eject and delete the WiFi_Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø_Eduroam_JoinNow.dmg disk image file.

  1. Click the JoinNow button.

  2. The WiFi_Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø_eduroam_Wrapper.exe file will begin to download. When completed, click the downloaded application. 

     
  3. Click Next. Another web browser will open asking you to login to Valdosta's WebSSO. Log in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø account and complete the Microsoft Authentication.

  4. SecureW2 will be granted access and proceed with generating a certificate.

  5. When the JoinNow software says "Joined...", the process is complete. If you are in range of eduroam, your device will automatically connect. Click Done.

  1. Give your device a name then tap the Sign In button. Sign in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø account and complete the Microsoft Authentication. Important: If you are connected to the "AccessÏã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøWireless" network, use text me to authenicate so that you do not leave the browser.

  2. Once redirected to the SecureW2 Join Now setup page, tap the JoinNow button.

      

  3. You will be prompted to download a configuration profile. Tap Allow.

      

  4. If the Close pop-up disappears within 5 seconds and you are redirected to the landing page, after clicking “Close” on the “Profile Downloaded” pop-up on the landing page, select the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose “Use network as is” to install the profile. 
  5. Open the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad. Tap the Profile Downloaded section.

      

  6. The Install Profile window will appear. Tap Install button. Enter your PIN/Passcode, or complete Touch/Face ID to grant permission to install the profile.

       

  7. You will be presented with a warning about the Certificates and Wi-Fi profile being installed on your device. Tap Install.

       

  8. Another Install Profile prompt will appear. Tap Install.

       

  9. You will now see the Valdosta State eduroam MobileConfig profile installed on your device. If you are in range of the eduroam network, your device will automatically connect.

  1. Click the "Download" button and install the JoinNow app from the Google Play Store.     

    • If you sign in using the "AccessÏã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøWireless" network in settings, an alert may pop up. Select "CONTINUE ANYWAY VIA BROWSER" to complete the download.

  2. Once downloaded, Open the SecureW2 JoinNow app.

      

  3. JoinNow will download configurations.

      

  4. The browser will appear for you to log in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø account and complete the Microsoft Authentication, if prompted tap the Continue button. JoinNow will proceed to install your certificate.

       

  5. You will then be prompted to save the eduroam Wi-Fi network to your device. Tap Next and tap Save in the app.

       

  6. JoinNow will report that your device has been configured. If you are in range of the eduroam network, your device should automatically connect to it.

  7. You may now uninstall the SecureW2 JoinNow app from your device.

  1. Click the JoinNow button. The SecureW2_JoinNow.run file will begin to download.

  2. Open a Terminal window and navigate to the directory where the SecureW2_JoinNow.run file was saved. Set the execute bit on the downloaded file by running the chmod +x ./SecureW2_JoinNow.run command. Then, run the ./SecureW2_JoinNow.run file.

     

  3. The file will verify its integrity and prompt you to open a web browser to sign in to Valdosta State's WebSSO. Press Enter to launch the web browser.

  4. Log in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø account and complete Microsoft Authentication.

  5. SecureW2 will be granted access and proceed with generating a certificate in the Terminal.

     

  6. JoinNow proceeds to install your certificate and eduroam profile within NetworkManager. If you are in range of the eduroam network, your device should automatically connect to it. Otherwise, type "Continue" and press Enter.

  7. You may now delete the SecureW2_JoinNow.run file.

  1. Click the Install button.
       
  2. Click the Add to Chrome then Add Extension button.
      
  3. When the popup JoinNow MultiOS has been added to Chrome appears, return to the "Valdosta State-eduroam | Powered by SecureW2" tab.

  4. Log in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø account and complete the Microsoft Authentication.

  5. Click the Download button.

  6. After your device's certificate and eduroam profile is downloaded, go to the Network tab in the browser and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the "Choose File" button and select the SecureW2.onc file just downloaded. The message "Networks imported: 1" should appear.

  7. You must download all certificates needed. Go to chrome://certificate-manager in your browser. Click the "Authorities" tab and click the Import button.

     

  8. In the file window, filter for "DER-encoded binary, single certificate", and open the "Valdosta State Device Root CA" file that you downloaded.

  9. Select "Trust this certificate for identifying websites" and click "OK".
     
  10. Click the "Import" button again and repeat steps 8 and 9 for the "Valdosta State Device Intermediate CA" file. 

  11. Once the certificates have been Imported and appear in the "org-Valdosta State" section in the "Authorities" tab, you must reboot your machine. Rebooting is required for the certificates to be properly loaded.

  12. Connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network. On the first connection, Chrome OS will open the "Join Wi-Fi network" connection settings.

      
  13. Change the "Server CA certificate" to "Default". Do not change any other settings.

       
  14. Click "Connect". Your device should now be able to connect to eduroam. If it does not connect, please reboot your machine once more and attempt to connect to eduroam again.
