Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø offers several wireless networks to help you stay connected and productive. Follow these set-up steps to connect to the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø wireless network that fits your needs: eduroam, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-IOT, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøors or WAAV-Valdosta.

eduroam is Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's primary bring-your-own-device (BYOD) wireless network for students and employees.

Complete a one-time setup and your smartphone, laptop, and tablet will automatically connect anytime you are in range of the eduroam network--on Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø campuses, at all USG institutions, and participating eduroam institutions . Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøors from participating eduroam institutions can connect to Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's eduroam network using their home insitution connection instructions.

If you are on or off campus AND have internet access:

  1. Go to  in your web-browser.
  2. Click the "Connect" button for eduroam wifi and proceed through the prompted steps based on your device type to complete your one-time setup. You will log in using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø credentials and multifactor authentication to obtain a digital certificate to automatically connect anytime you are in range of the eduroam network!

Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-IOT is the wireless network designed for Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as gaming consoles, smart TVs, streaming devices, and wireless printers.

You must first register your IoT device before connecting to this network. (Limited to 5 devices)

Register Your IoT Device

  1. On a computer or device other than your IoT device, visit  
    Enter your MyÏã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø credentials; click Log In.  

  2. Click Register your device and enter requested information for the IOT device:  
  • MAC Address (also known as WiFi or physical address). Example AA:BB:CC:11:22:33. Find Your MAC Address 
  • Device Name that you can easily recognize
  • Share Device (Optional)-Grant others access to your device. Enter their MyÏã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø username. Use a comma to separate each user (ex. user1, user2, user3).

    • Currently this feature is only available at select locations.
    • AirGroup/AirPlay uses device ownership and location information to limit the printers and Apple TVs available to network users.
    • A personal device is automatically shared with other devices owned by the same user. 

3. Click Register Device.

Manage Your IoT Devices:

Click Manage Your Devices to edit, share, remove an existing device, or to add/create an additional device. 

Access Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's open wireless network while visiting our beautiful campus.
Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøor access is available Monday thru Sunday, 7am - 11pm (EST) for 10-hour session durations.

How to Connect

1. Choose Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-Guests from your device network list and tap Register with Email or Mobile #.

  • AT&T users must register with an email to receive login credentials.

2. Fill out the required fields; tap Register. You will receive a text message or an email from ClearPass@valdosta.edu that will include your guest username and password. Check your Inbox or Spam folder.

3. Enter the provided Username and Password. 

4. Read and Accept the Use Policy; tap Log In to connect.

Grant Presenter Access to Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍøors

Full-time Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø faculty and staff members can grant Presenter access to guests who are using the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-Guests WiFi network. This special access allows guest presenters to connect and project their personal device (i.e., laptops, smart phones, and tablets) wirelessly to the university's audio/video system that is available in many classrooms and presenter locations.

*All guest presenters must first connect their device to the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-Guests network.

EMPLOYEES: 

Log in to the IOT Registration Portal at using your Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø username and password.

WAAV-Valdosta-#### is a third-party open-WiFi connection that is available on Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø shuttle and athletic buses that allow you to stay connected even when you are on the go.

Replace the hashtags by the four numbers assigned to the bus you are on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wired ports are available for official business and Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-owned devices only in academic and administration buildings. Residence Hall requests must meet specific requirements in order to be activated.

If you need a port activated in any of these areas, please contact the Solution Center by calling 229-245-4357 or by submiting a ticket through the .

If available, it is always recommended that a user connects to a secure and encrypted wireless network, such as Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's eduroam network.  

REMINDER: Be cautious of data that you transmit over unsecured wireless networks. We do not recommend making purchases, completing banking transactions, or similar activities that would transmit financial information or private identification numbers (like Social Security Numbers) over an unsecured/unencrypted wireless network.

  • Personal computers should support the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless connection.   

  • We recommend that your workstation supports 5Ghz (802.11a/an/ac/ax).

No, wireless routers are not supported since they may interfere with our campus wireless network. These devices introduce security risks to the university and will be removed if found.

Currently, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø does not offer VPN services and does not support any third-party software.

Yes, students may bring wireless printers to campus. First, and then connect it to the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-IOT network.

Additonally, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø offers wireless printing throughout the entire campus. Learn more about student-use card-swipe printers.

Peer-to-peer (P2P) network connections are not allowed on campus. P2P applications allow a computer to connect directly to another computer to share files. The shared files might be copyrighted, which introduces legal issues for unauthorized data-sharing without the permission of the copyright holder. Shared files, even if they look legitimate, can also contain malicious code that could infect a computer’s files or destroy valuable files and data on a computer. 

While the Division of Information Technology does not offer repair services for personal devices, we can assist with connecting devices to Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø systems and services like our wireless network, BlazeVIEW, campus computer lab printing, and Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø email.

eduroam: There is no limit to the number of devices (cell phones, laptops, tablets) Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø students, staff, and faculty can connect to this wireless network.

Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-IOT: Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø students, staff and faculty may register up to 5 devices (gaming consoles, smart TVs,wireless printers, etc.) through the IoT registration portal at . All 5 devices may connect simultaneously to this network.

Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø-Guests: A maximum of 3 simultaneous logins are permitted per guest account.
