Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø Springs into Fitness with USG Health Trails Challenge

VALDOSTA — Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø Campus Wellness invites all full-time faculty and staff members to participate in the University System of Georgia’s Health Trails Challenge from March 20 to April 30.
 
“We are excited to join our sister institutions for this system-wide Health Trails Challenge,” said Kyle Culpepper, a member of Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø’s Campus Wellness Committee and instructional technology specialist in the New Media Center. “This is a great opportunity to focus on employee health and well-being.”
 
The program will allow participants to track steps, water consumption, and acts of kindness on the Health Trails website or free mobile app. As they record activities, they will move along a virtual trail. Participants can compete individually or as a team. Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø will compete against all participating USG institutions.
 
To register, visit . The first 5,000 employees to register may qualify for a $44 subsidy towards a Fitbit purchase. Participants can sync a Fitbit or Jawbone device to track their steps on the Health Trails app.
 
Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø Campus Wellness will host an ending celebration for all participants from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, in Student Union Ballroom C. Participants who have tracked 300 or more virtual miles by the end of the competition will have their names entered into a prize drawing. Dr. Steve Wrigley, USG chancellor, will present a traveling trophy to the winning institution.
 
All participants who track 300 virtual miles and complete an evaluation survey by May 12 will receive an award from USG.
