VALDOSTA – Dr. Emily Cantonwine, associate professor in the Department of Biology at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø, is a new senior editor of The Plant Health Instructor. Her three-year term began Jan. 1.
Cantonwine will serve as the primary editor for submissions by authors from Non-Land-Grant College of Agriculture (NLGCA) academic institutions — including Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø — and articles or topics that target instructors at NLGCA institutions. She will also evaluate the suitability of articles that are submitted to The Plant Health Instructor for publication and assign reviewers.
“The Plant Health Instructor has been an excellent resource for me, and I am looking forward to contributing to its continued success,” said Cantonwine. “The responsibilities of a senior editor position are new to me, but I am quite excited to learn more about the editing and publishing process following peer review.”
Developed by the American Phytopathological Society, The Plant Health Instructor is a journal of peer-reviewed instructional materials and teaching scholarship for plant pathology and closely related disciplines.
Contact Dr. Emily Cantonwine at (229) 333-5337 or egcantonwine@valdosta.edu for more information.
