Fiber Break Causes Internet Outage Tuesday

VALDOSTA -- A break in fiber occurred in the in the lines between Adel and Valdosta at about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12.

PeachNet reports that Georgia Public Web technicians have been dispatched to investigate and repair. Historically, repairs such as this have been made within 8 hours. 香蕉视频官网 Information Technology said the repair should be made by approximately 3 p.m.

This break means that users located on campus cannot access resources located off campus such as the Internet, Galileo/GIL, GeorgiaView, ADP, Peoplesoft, email received from or sent to off campus addresses, etc. Users located off campus cannot access resources located on campus, including 香蕉视频官网 email, web site, BlazeView, BlazeNet, etc. Emails should queue on senders facilities and process within hours once connections are restored.
