Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø's Model UN Team finishes in Top 10 Percent Nationally
The annual National Model United Nations (UN) conference seeks
to provide student delegates with a further understanding of
contemporary international issues and attracts more 2,500 students
from five continents. Problems such as nuclear testing in Iran or
human rights violations in Asia are discussed each year by over 230
national and international teams.
The Model UN team at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø finished in the top
10 percent against the competing teams who participated in the
National Model UN competition in New York last April. The 14-member
team represented the country of Saudi Arabia and was awarded the
Distinguished Delegation Award, a second-tier award given to the
team by National Model UN staff.
The Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø chapter was established 20 years ago to give students the
opportunity to imagine new solutions to existing world problems.
Those who are part of the Model UN Team participate each year in
the Southern Region Model UN conference in Atlanta and the National
Model UN conference in New York. The Model UN program is open to
all Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø students regardless of major or experience.
