Online Lifeline addresses technology advancements of highereducation

Thomas L. Maier, assistant vice chancellor for information technology for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, will be the guest presenter at the Online Lifeline conference hosted by Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's Distance Learning Department, in cooperation with the HUB Learning Cooperative, Vista Advisory Board, Satellite Services, and Continuing Education. The conference, which takes place at the Regional Continuing Education Center on Friday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will address the technological challenges facing institutions of higher education and USG's plans to meet these challenges with an Integrated Learning Environment.

Harold G. Powers, project manager for the WebCT Group at Georgia State University and a member of the USG GeorgiaView Vista implementation team, will also be at the Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø campus to share the vision for the future of learning management systems and lead a panel discussion and audience Q&A on future opportunities of Vista implementation at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø. In addition to Powers, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø panel members include: Sheri Gravett, assistant vice president for academic affairs; Joe Newton, chief information officer; Beatriz Potter, instructional designer; and Jon Sizemore, assistant director for distance learning.

The conference is intended for instructors, administrators, trainers, librarians, and support staff at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø and partner institutions. Conference admission is free and includes light refreshments.
