Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø 2004 Honors Day Ceremony set for April 14

Students from Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø will be honored for their academic excellence during the annual Honors Day ceremony on Wednesday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m., in the Whitehead Auditorium (Fine Arts Building). Thirty-seven awards will be presented, including one award from each department, one award from each college, and eight university-wide awards. A highlight of the presentations will be the Annie Powe Hopper Award, which is the University's highest student honor.

Dr. Sharon Gravett, selected as the Outstanding Faculty Member, will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Gravett was recently named as Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's assistant vice president for Academic Affairs.

Classes will be dismissed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. so that the campus community may attend the event. Sigma Alpha Chi and Alpha Chi Honor Societies will also host a brunch in the Pine Room prior to the Honors Day ceremony beginning at 9:45 a.m. and lasting until 11:00 a.m. All honorees and their and guests are invited.
